If you hear the word “wearables,” and counting steps and biometrics are the only things that leap to mind, think again. The List's Jimmy Rhoades has three wearables that have nothing to do with working out.
1. IMPROVE YOUR POSTURE
Slouching leads to back problems and projects a lack of confidence. For 80 bucks the Lumo Lift vibrates any time you slouch. Your corrections create muscle memory over time, and the app helps you track how you’re doing.
2. GET IN TOUCH WITH YOUR FEELINGS
A new product called Feel helps track your emotions. According to Feel Co-Founder and CEO George Eleftheriou, “The wristband communicates with the mobile application to help users understand their positive and negative emotional habits and get personalized recommendations on how to improve well-being and achieve their well-being goals.”
The Feel wristband and app will be available later this year for $199. You can save $50 by preordering. Sign up for alerts at their website.
3. WEARABLE THERAPY
ReliefBand goes beyond providing data, and actually delivers therapy. ReliefBand Customer Service rep Melanie Brothers explains, “ReliefBand stimulates your P6 median nerve to normalize the erratic stomach rhythms that occur that cause nausea and vomiting that occurs with motion sickness patients and morning sickness patients.”
Set it at one for mild nausea, or crank it up to a five for that roller coaster. It’s 90 bucks at their website.
