Car fire shuts down Westbound I-496

A car caught fire Thursday night on I-496 between US-127 and Pennsylvania Avenue.

It happened just before 9 p.m. on Thursday. 

Police had to shut down the westbound lanes. 

No word on what caused the fire or if anyone was hurt.
