Crash Overnight Traps One in Car

LANSING, Mich. — Troopers from the Michigan State Police Jackson Post, Jonesville Detachment investigated a traffic crash which occurred on December 8, 2019 at midnight on South Lake Pleasant Road, south of Smith Road.

Investigation into the incident showed a 44-year old male driver from Osseo MI, and lone occupant, was driving north on South Lake Pleasant Road. The vehicle crossed the oncoming lane, left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by the Jefferson Township Fire Department using the “Jaws of Life”. Reading EMS ambulance transported the driver to an awaiting helicopter from St. Vincent Life Flight where he was flown to Mercy Health St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo Ohio and treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Drug use is suspected, and the incident is still under investigation. No names are being released at this time.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Jefferson Fire Department, and Reading EMS Ambulance service.
