How to emotionally prepare your child for college life

For many parents and students alike, the mental and emotional transition to college can be daunting. In fact, a recent study published in the American Journal of Public Health cites that while most college students say they were academically prepared for life beyond high school, 60% of them say they weren't emotionally prepared for college life. 

At times, college students deal with frustration, loneliness, fear or disappointment and may not be fully prepared to do so. And then there’s the emotional, and even financial, side of leaving home. Parents want insight as to how they can help their college students prepare and navigate those difficult first few months of college and beyond.
