Applying to college can be confusing for new students, especially when they don't have the guidance they need. Local non-profit, The College Board, created a new scholarship program guides students through the college planning process, as well as assisting students with financial aid.
The College Board Opportunity Scholarships program guides students through the college planning process, simplifying it by laying out the six most important actions on the path to college. Each step will earn a chance for a scholarship ranging from $500 to $2,000.
Students who complete five out of the six steps will earn a chance at a $40,000 scholarship.
Unlike most scholarship programs, this one doesn't require an essay, application, or minimum GPA or SAT score. Anyone needing financial aid and applying to college can apply.
Students in the Class of 2021 have until July 31 to sign up for the first step in the College Board Opportunity Scholarships program. Taking a few minutes to do this will qualify applicants for a $500 scholarship opportunity and keep them on track for a $40,000 scholarship.
