I’m Lauren Shields, a Multimedia Journalist for FOX 47 News. My interest in news and media began when I was in middle school. I studied journalism, advertising and public relations as part of the Honors College at Michigan State University from 2013 to 2017. During that time, I have had a wide range of work experiences within the industry, starting as early as high school. I’ve been a journalist, an editor, a public relations assistant, an account executive, a brand ambassador, and more.
Now, you can find me either in the FOX 47 newsroom, or at home with my boyfriend and our little zoo, which consists of two cats (Bondi and Kevin) and two dogs (Palmer and Raleigh). Though I’m a Michigan native, within the past 10 years I have humbly made traveling and experiencing other cultures from across the world a priority of mine. I’ve always found meeting new people and listening to their stories and ideas to be educational and enlightening. It’s always been my nature to be curious and ask questions. Honest storytelling through creative and strong writing has been my passion since I was young. I look forward to hearing and telling yours.
