We’ve always heard the recipe for health is to get plenty of sleep and exercise, but can there actually be too much of a good thing? The answer is yes and The List’s Donna Ruko has got your list of healthy things not to over do.
1. Water
Yes you read that right! Over hydrating can have very serious health issues. It can drop your sodium dangerously and you can get seizures. There isn’t a one size fits all for how much H20 to consume since your activity level can vary just pay attention to your body.
2. Sleep
Needing lots of z’s could be a warning. If you’re not waking up rested after 8,9, or 10 hours you might have some hormonal issues. You could be at risk for diabetes, adrenal, or thyroid disease. Seven to eight hours should leave you refreshed and a before you get your rest be sure to unplug from your tech! If you use your cell phone, IPad, or TV right until the minute you go to sleep, you won’t produce enough melatonin.
3. Running
Too much can create a lot of wear and tear, increasing your risk of injuries. It can even wreck havoc on your heart and cause some structural remodeling but 75 minutes or walking briskly for 150 minutes in a week is a very reasonable pace to try for sufficient exercise without hurting your body.
