Cedar Point announces plans for 2021 season, 150th-anniversary celebration

(WXYZ) — Cedar Point announced plans for 2021 on Thursday, which includes the 150th-anniversary celebration after it was postponed last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 150th-anniversary celebration will take place June 26 through Aug. 15 with new food options, a nighttime party and parade with floats, dancers and much more.

Other events include the Frontier Festival, which will kick off May 14 and run weekends May 14-16, 21, 23 and daily May 28-June 13. The festival will happen in Frontier Town and will feature live music, interactive games, street entertainers and more.

Snake River Expedition, a new river boat ride, will open on May 29 and take riders through a journey that will have them perform secret tasks. The tours are led by a cast of live characters.

Cedar Point Nights will happen near the end of summer, from Aug. 6 through Labor Day, and will be a nighttime celebration on Cedar Point beach with a dining in the dark experience, interactive beach games, fire pits, glow games, decor, and much more.

Cedar Point Shores Waterpark will open on May 29, and more COVID-19 safety information will be released in the coming months.
