With the COVID-19 pandemic approaching nearly eight months in Michigan, some people may still be wary of going into a doctor's office. That's where telehealth and virtual visits come in handy.

The trend has been growing for years, and makes seeing your doctor easy by going through the computer or phone to chat, email or video conference. You can use them of anything
from your annual checkup to something like a sprain.

With the growing trend, Priority Health also said that virtual visits cost far less than non-emergency trips to the urgent care or ER, and some companies, like Priority Heaht, offer a $0 cost-share for virtual care visits through the end of the year.

According to priority health, there are several problems that may be easier to deal with through telehealth than going to the doctor's office.

Those include:

  • Allergies, bites or stings
  • Sore throat, fever or headache
  • Cold, cough and flu
  • Diarrhea and heartburn
  • Earache
  • Pink eye, rashes and hives
  • Sinus infection
  • Ear infection
  • Yeast infection
  • Kidney infection

There are some ties when you should still visit a doctor in-person. If you have a non-life-threatening condition that can't wait for a doctor visit, you should to go an urgent care center, and if it's an emergency, you should go to the closest ER or call 911 if you can't get to an ER.
