Staff at Sparrow Hospital kept spirits high as kids got dressed up to trick or treat through the hallways.
That wasn't the only surprise of the day.
The Chance family collected toys to give to the young ghouls and boys.
Their son, Malachi Chance, passed away at Sparrow Hospital on Halloween two years ago.
He and his brother were hit by a car while crossing Bridge Street in Downtown Grand Ledge.
"He was always one to help. He would always say hi to somebody he didn't even know so this is a way of honoring him," said Nate Chance, Malachi, Chance's father.
