For those of you planning to fry your turkey on Thursday, the Meridian Township Fire Department showed us just how quickly an overfilled fryer can start spilling oil once the bird is placed inside.
A partially-frozen turkey will cause the oil to splatter. That oil can cause serious burns it is touches your skin.
Worst-case scenario is that the fryer tips over or gets too hot and starts a fire.
The safest thing to do is keep it on a flat surface and away from any buildings, decks or trees.
