LANSING, Mich. — The 35th Annual Silver Bells in the City, set for Friday, November 22nd, had scheduled recording artist, Tiffany, to perform live in concert, along with the Mega 80’s, at 8 pm at the Lansing Center as part of the night’s festivities. Event organizers have learned that Tiffany will not be able to make her appearance due to unforeseen health issues. The Mega 80’s will perform a longer set as a result.

The concert will be held inside Hall C of the Lansing Center. Doors will open for the concert at 7:30 pm and a cash bar will be available for those 21 years and older with a valid ID.

The Mega 80’s are a popular ‘80s cover band that began at Michigan State University in the 1990s, then regularly toured southeast Michigan. They received an award from the Real Detroit's "Best of..." for Best Live Production/Cover Band in 2002 and have won this category every year through 2013. They’ve also been honored as Hour Detroit's best local band in 2009, The Knot: Best of Weddings 2010 pick and one of WDIV's "4 The Best" top 5 bands.

Silver Bells in the City, presented by Lansing Board of Water and Light and the City of Lansing, has a 80’s retro-throwback theme this year, prompting the booking of a popular ‘80s artist for the concert. The event will feature numerous activities and special outdoor performances, all highlighted by the 23rd Annual Electric Light Parade, the lighting of the state Christmas tree, community sing, fireworks over the Capitol dome and so much more.

Tiffany “wishes everyone a rockin’ retro tree lighting."

“Silver Bells in the City along with our Concert Sponsors Spartan Toyota, Michigan Lottery and FUEL 92.1 sends our best to Tiffany for a speedy recovery,” said Mindy Biladeau, Director of Special Events and Programming for LEFPA.
