Toro Power Max Snowthrowers recalled because of amputation hazard

(WSYM) — Toro Max Snowthrowers are being recalled because of a potential amputation hazard.

The recalled model is the 2021 Toro Power Max 826 OHAE Snowthrower, model 37802.

The company states that the auger can fail to disengage when the control lever is released, posing an amputation hazard.

About 6,700 units are listed in the recall. No injuries have been reported as of yet. The snowblower is sold at The Home Depot, Ace Hardware, and Toro Authorized Dealers nationwide and online at www.homedepot.com, www.acehardware.com, and www.toro.com. They were sold between November 2020 through January 2021 for about $1,200.
