DELTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Earlier this week we shared information on a dog that was abandoned in Sharp Park after being abused.

The Capital Area Humane Society (CAHS), in conjunction with Eaton County Animal Control continues to look for public assistance in collecting information related to an animal cruelty investigation.

The dog (Ralphie) was found, abandoned at Sharp Park, by a kind-hearted and concerned young man, who brought him to Capital Area Humane Society at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2. Ralphie was in grave condition. He was covered in urine and feces, had several puncture wounds, and suffering from starvation. He was immediately taken to an emergency veterinary clinic, where he received life-saving medical care for three days. He is now in the care of CAHS.

The reward has been increased to $2,500, and being offered to those with information leading to an arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for abusing Ralphie. Those with information are strongly encouraged to call Eaton County Animal Control at (517) 543-5755.
