JACKSON, Mich — Jackson’s Center for Family Health is recommending that anyone who needs health insurance enroll through the federal marketplace created by the Affordable Care Act.

COVID-19 open enrollment is underway at Healthcare.gov and ends on May 15.

If you’re concerned about the cost of health insurance, the Center for Family Health says there are affordable options.

“Many people can find good deals on HealthCare.gov by contacting us for assistance to help lower their monthly health insurance costs,” said the center's CEO Molly Kaser.

All plans cover essential benefits such as doctor and hospital visits, prescription medication, mental health treatment and maternity care.

If enrolled, you can also receive free preventive care services like immunization and health screenings. COVID-19 treatment and testing are also considered essential.

You can contact the Center for Family Health and schedule an appointment for health insurance assistance by calling (517)-748-5500.
