Michigan State Police Investigate Hillsdale County Crash

LANSING, Mich. — On December 27, 2020 at approximately 1:55 pm, Troopers from the Michigan State Police Jackson post were dispatched to the report of a single vehicle, personal injury crash on Somerset Road south of Addison Road in Wheatland Township, Hillsdale County, MI.

Initial investigation revealed the vehicle occupied by two Jackson County residents, had been traveling northbound on Somerset Road when it lost control, struck a large tree, and caught fire. A 25-year-old female was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 31-year-old male was transported to Henry Ford Allegiance for non-life-threatening injuries. The crash remains under investigation.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by Somerset Police Department, Somerset EMS and Fire Department, Addison EMS and Fire Department, the Hillsdale/Lenawee County Medical Examiner’s office and the Michigan State Police First District Traffic Crash Reconstructionist.
