ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. — A 9-year-old boy was hospitalized after his father used a Jeep Wrangler to tow the boy and his sled around a cul-de-sac in Rochester Hills Saturday while visiting family.

The boy was riding on a plastic sled as his 37-year-old father was towing him in circles around the cul-de-sac when the 9-year-old hit a parked car.

Authorities say the child was taken to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital and then life-flighted to Children's Hospital in Detroit where is listed in critical condition.

Investigators say alcohol doesn't appear to be a factor. The investigation is ongoing.
