The Detroit Animal Welfare Group shared a story of a duck who successfully hatched nine ducklings.
In a Facebook post, DAWG says that a Muscovy duck, Pinky, came to the group last year after she was found freezing on a pond. She became a mate for the group's existing Muscovy duck.
Last year, the group found that Pinky was sitting on fertilized eggs, but lost them. Several months later, she was sitting on fertilized eggs again, and sat for 28 days without moving and barely eating, but sadly, they never hatched.
In November, she was sitting on a nest of eggs again.
"Our Christmas miracle is here and Pinky is a very proud mom to nine ducklings," the group said.
