LANSING, Mich. — The College of Business at Baker College, Michigan’s largest, private not-for-profit college and the top private transfer school in the state, has introduced three new programs for students pursuing all levels of business degrees, from bachelor’s to doctorate. Courses for the new degree programs are available at Baker on-ground campuses across Michigan, or at Baker Online.

Beginning with the fall 2019 semester, in addition to current programs, Baker College’s business students also can choose from three new degree options. The first is a “4+1” (5-year) dual bachelor’s and master’s degree program, in which students may apply 12-15 credits to both degrees. Six majors are available for the 4+1 program, including: accounting, finance, human resource management, logistics, management and marketing.

The second new option is the Accelerated Path to complete an MBA program in as little as 12 months, including greater student scholarship opportunities.

Thirdly, Baker College also will unveil for the first time this year, a new Doctorate of Business Administration “all-but-dissertation” option (DBA-ABD). The DBA-ABD is designed for those students who have completed all requirements for achieving their doctorate, short of their dissertation, which becomes the exclusive focus of this new program.

“We strive to offer high quality academic programs, which equip our students with the knowledge and skills they need for their rewarding careers. Meanwhile, we recognize that our students are facing more and different types of challenges than those before them,” said Dr. Na “Lina” Li, dean of the College of Business at Baker College. “We’re constantly reviewing and improving our programs and offerings to provide today’s business student with what they need…expertise, real-world experience, efficiency, flexibility, accessibility and affordability. We designed these new program options to provide more channels for students to overcome their unique circumstances and realize their dreams.”

In addition to the new degree programs, the College of Business at Baker continues to offer a variety of its traditional options for bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees. In the 2018-2019 academic year, Baker College’s College of Business awarded approximately 850 bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate business degrees.
