OKEMOS, Mich. — NexTech Lansing will start the new school year with Freshman Boost Camp August 12 through August 16, at 12:15 p.m. daily on NexTech High School of Lansing’s Facebook Live (https://www.facebook.com/NexTechHighLansing/) .
Freshman Boost Camp will provide tips for incoming freshman from greater Lansing and beyond on how to survive and thrive in high school. NexTech High School of Lansing Principal Jamie DeWitt will give students advice, direct them to resources and answer questions students or parents may have, with a dash of humor and a dose of reality-check thrown in.
"Positive preparation is key for high school freshman to make a successful transition," said DeWitt. "It can be scary, intimidating and just a lot for students to deal with. I want to help take away some of that anxiety and ensure students have access to the tools and information that will help them succeed throughout their high school career."
DeWitt wants all students, not just those starting at NexTech High School, to learn and advance in school while experiencing a fun and rewarding school year. Students will have the opportunity to learn about a variety of topics such as creating a plan for success, learning and understanding how to set up a workspace, managing life and more.
Current and incoming students, families and interested community members are invited to tune in to NexTech’s Facebook and Instagram Live every day, or watch the videos after.
