(WXYZ) — The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is reporting that as of August 25, the state has confirmed 1,193 cases of the B.1.617.2 Delta variant. Fifty-six of those cases reported are labeled as "out of state."
Regarding other Variants of Concern, Michigan also has:
- 13,665 confirmed cases of the B.1.1.7 variant first identified in the U.K. (12 labeled as "out of state")
- 331 confirmed cases of the P.1 variant, first detected in Brazil (3 labeled as "out of state")
- 85 confirmed cases of the COVID-19 variant B.1.351, first identified in South Africa (1 labeled as "out of state")
Currently, Oakland County has the most cases of the Delta variant with 96 confirmed.
