LANSING, Mich. — There are now 90,392 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Michigan and 6,289 deaths.
The state announced 1,121 new cases and 16 deaths; 9 of those deaths were identified during a Vital Records review.
So far, 63,636 have recovered from the virus in Michigan, according the state's latest COVID-19 numbers.
The governor's office said every region in Michigan has seen an uptick in new cases over the past several weeks, and daily case counts in late July exceeded 50 cases per million statewide.
The statewide positivity rate has also increased from a low of 2% in mid-June to 3.5% in late July.
