LANSING, Mich. — There are now 86,889 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 6,250 deaths, the state reported Saturday.
That's up 698 cases from the day before. The state is also reporting three new deaths.
63,636 have recovered from the virus in Michigan, according the state's latest COVID-19 numbers.
Health officials reported 86,191 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 6,247 deaths Friday. Zero deaths were reported on Friday.
This week, Governor Gretchen Whitmer extended the state's emergency and disaster declaration until Sept. 4.
The governor's office said every region in Michigan has seen an uptick in new cases over the past several weeks; daily case counts in late July exceeded 50 cases per million statewide.
The statewide positivity rate has also increased from a low of 2% in mid-June to 3.5% in late July.
