LANSING, Mich. — There are 143,106 total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Michigan and 6,987 deaths, the state reported Friday.
That's up 2,015 cases and 14 deaths from the day before.
A recent surge in COVID-19 cases is "likely" evidence of a second wave, Chief Medical Executive Joneigh Khaldun said.
Michigan had 89 new cases per 1 million people per day, up from 81.6 cases last week, the health department said.
