LANSING, Mich. — There are a total of 442,715 new coronavirus cases and 10,935 deaths in Michigan, the state reported Tuesday.
That's up 4,730 cases and 183 deaths since the last report on Monday. Seventy-one of the newly reported deaths were found during a review of vital records.
The state surpassed 400,000 total cases of COVID-19 last week, just less than nine months after the first cases were confirmed on March 10.
The 400,000 case mark came on the same day that Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced the COVID-19 restrictions would be extended for 12 more days until Dec. 20.
As of Friday, Dec. 11, 236,369 people have recovered from the virus in Michigan.
