Michigan reports 6,008 new COVID-19 cases, 42 deaths

LANSING, Mich. — There are 229,285 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 7,766 deaths in Michigan, the state reported Wednesday.

That's up 6,008 cases and 42 deaths from the day before.

Additionally, there are 22,587 probable cases in the state.

Michigan continues to see a surge in cases, hospitalizations and deaths. Hospitalizations for COVID-19 have doubled over the last three weeks while the state death rate has increased for five consecutive weeks.
