Michigan reports 6,290 new COVID-19 cases, 145 more deaths

LANSING, Mich. — There are a total of 320,506 coronavirus cases and 8,688 deaths in Michigan, the state reported Tuesday.

The state is now reporting 6,290 new COVID-19 cases, and 145 deaths. The newly reported deaths include 51 that came from a review of vital records.

The CDC recommended Thursday Americans not travel for Thanksgiving during the current spike in coronavirus cases nationwide. There are more than 11 million reported cases of COVID-19 in this country since the pandemic started, and more than 250,000 Americans have died.

On Wednesday, new COVID-19 restrictions went into effect in Michigan. Governor Gretchen Whitmer ordered the suspension of in-person dining services, the closing of high schools, movie theatres, and more.

As of Nov. 20, more than 152,000 people have recovered from the virus in Michigan.
