Michigan reports 6,955 new cases of COVID-19, 81 deaths

LANSING, Mich. — Michigan has 373,197 total cases of COVID-19 and 9,405 total deaths, the state reported Wednesday.

That's up 6,955 cases and 81 deaths from the day before.

The state is seeing a decline in cases over the past seven to 15 days, accoding to the state, and the case rate is declining as well, now at 608 cases per million people.

However, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said the state expects to see an increase in COVID-19 cases in the coming weeks due to people traveling for the holidays.
