LANSING, Mich. — There are 251,813 total confirmed COVID-19 cases and 7,994 total deaths, the state reported Saturday.
That's up 7,072 cases and 65 deaths from the day before.
On Friday, the state confirmed the latest single-day record-high with 8,516 coronavirus cases.
Cases are rising at an exponential rate in Michigan, statewide health leaders said. On Thursday, Governor Gretchen Whitmer warned the state could hit its daily peak of COVID-19 deaths in Michigan by Christmas.
She urged Michiganders to continue to social distance, practice good hand washing and mask up.
As of Friday, Nov. 13, 138,862 people have recovered from the virus.
