Michigan reports 722 additional cases of COVID-19, 26 deaths

LANSING, Mich. — There are now 85,429 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Michigan and 6,247 deaths.

That's up 722 cases and 26 deaths from the day before. Seventeen of the deaths, however, were identified during a vital records review.

On Thursday, Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed an executive order requiring face coverings to be worn in all child-care centers and camps.

The governor's office said the state has seen outbreaks at these locations, implying that children can contract and spread the virus.
