Michigan reports 779 new COVID-19 cases, 20 new deaths

LANSING, Mich. — There are now 98,439 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Michigan and 6,417 deaths, according to new numbers released by the state on Tuesday.

That's up 779 cases and 20 deaths from the day before. Fourteen of the deaths were reported over the last 24 hours. Six of the new deaths were discovered during a review of vital records.

As of Aug. 21, a cumulative total of 72,580 have recovered from the virus in the state.
