Michigan reports 891 additional cases of COVID-19, 4 new deaths

LANSING, Mich. — The state is reporting 71,197 cases of COVID-19 and 6,085 deaths, according to numbers released Wednesday.

That's an increase of 891 new cases and 4 new deaths since cases were reported Tuesday.
During her Wednesday afternoon news conference, Governor Gretchen Whitmer said the increase was the biggest since May 14, two months ago. Michigan had been below 100 new cases a day as recently as July 4th.
