Rep. Tim Walberg, who represents Michigan's 7th Congressional District, announced Monday he has tested positive for COVID-19.
Walberg said in a statement that his symptoms are mild and he is in good spirits.
"It's been more than a week since I have attended a public event," he said in a statement.
He said he and his office are working to reach out to people he contacted before his self-isolation began.
“Throughout this pandemic, the work of our health care professionals and frontline workers has been nothing short of heroic, and I continue to be grateful for their dedication. As we enter the winter months, I encourage everyone to remain vigilant and adhere to public health guidelines to combat this virus," he said.
