Wayne State University has joined the list of state universities canceling classes after the first two cases of coronavirus in Michigan.

According to the university, they will extend spring break for students and cancel classes until March 23. Campus housing will remain open but the university is encouraging people who don't have to be on campus to return to their permanent place of residence. Those who can't will still be able to stay and dine in campus facilities.

Wayne State also said a subcommittee has been established to plan for a shift to online instruction.

"There remain a number of issues under consideration, including training of faculty and working to accommodate the unique needs of students who have limited access to technology off campus," President M. Roy Wilson said in a letter.

WSU joins Central Michigan , Michigan State and Michigan Tech who announced they were switching over to an online-only curriculum.
