The U.S. Coast Guard, along with the St. Clair County dive team, searched the waters of the North Channel of the St. Clair River for hours Monday night.

The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office tells us emergency crews are looking for 37-year old Darren Cogbill of Roseville. We're told four people jumped off a boat around 5:30 p.m., three were able to make it back to the boat.

Police say Cogbill never resurfaced from the waters, considered to be nearly 42 feet deep. Boaters tell 7 Action News the water is rough and choppy, and boat traffic was heavy on the July 4 holiday.

Dive teams will resume their recovery mission Tuesday at 9 a.m.
