Ahead of Halloween, the historic Ford Piquette Plant is bringing back its "Ghosts of Piquette" tours on Saturday, Oct. 27 and Sunday, Oct. 28.

The tour tells the stories of the men & women who worked at the first home of the Ford Model T.

Those on the tour will be taken through the museum in groups by volunteers from Preservation Detroit, and meet actors portraying historical characters from the plant's past.

Those characters include Edsel Ford, Horace Dodge, Model T designer CJ Smith, Detroit Mayor James Couzens and James O'Connor, who started working at Ford at a young age and put the first engine in the first Model T.

“Everyone loves the museum at this time of the year, and both the volunteers and the guests really get into the historical stories that we share," Ford Piquette Plant Executive Director Nancy Darga said in a release. "We put a lot of time into researching the unique stories of all the people involved in the Piquette plant, and it shows when the ‘ghosts’ tell their tales. People get really engaged.”

The tour is more a historical tour than a spooky Halloween event, and people of all ages are welcome.

Tours run for an hour from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on both days. They leave every 20 minutes. Tickets for the event can be found herefor Saturday tickets and here for Sunday tickets.
