LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan Lottery has played a big role in funding education in our state, which is why it has teamed up with FOX 47 News to recognize excellent educators state-wide.

Erin Pintek, a teacher at Bendle Middle School in Burton is this week's Michigan Lottery Excellence in Education award winner. In his nomination video Kevin Meinka says, "She is a simply outstanding teacher and it is a pleasure to be her colleague"

Erin commented, "My Dad always had the quote to be early is to be on time, to be on time is to be late and to be late is to be left and I saw the positive impact he had on his students and athletes and so I wanted to make that difference in someone else's life.

Erin was recognized with a $1,500 check from the Michigan Lottery and her school will receive a $500 grant!

The Excellence in Education award is sponsored by the Michigan Lottery, proud to provide more than $23 billion to support public education since 1972!
