LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan Lottery has played a big role in funding education in our state, which is why it has teamed up with FOX 47 News to recognize excellent educators state-wide.
Jamie Sanborn, a teacher at Pathfinder Elementary in Fremont is this week's Michigan Lottery Excellence in Education award winner. In a letter she received, it stated that Jamie was extremely kind and she really goes above and beyond the call of duty.
When asked why she teaches, Jamie responded, "To make a difference in not only the children, but the community. Sometimes they come to school and it is the only hug they're getting all day long."
Jamie was recognized with a $1,500 check from the Michigan Lottery and her school will receive a $500 grant!
The Excellence in Education award is sponsored by the Michigan Lottery, proud to provide more than $23 billion to support public education since 1972!
