LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan Lottery has played a big role in funding education in our state, which is why it has teamed up with FOX 47 News to recognize excellent educators state-wide.
Joshua Gove, a teacher at St. John's Public Schools is this week's Michigan Lottery Excellence in Education award winner. In their nomination video, the Boak Family says, "He has a real knack for weaving literacy, language and empowerment into his art lessons. He calls his students champion artists and he is huge in developing champions."
Joshua responded, "Well you know, when March 2020 happened I didn't think that I'd be having a YouTube channel and teaching virtually and in person. I just wanted them to be able to have that same experience and just make the same connections, whether we're together or through a screen."
Joshua was recognized with a $1,500 check from the Michigan Lottery and his school will receive a $500 grant!
