LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan Lottery has played a big role in funding education in our state, which is why it has teamed up with FOX 47 News to recognize excellent educators state-wide.
Karrie Marciniak, a teacher at Mackensen Elementary in Bay City is this week's Michigan Lottery Excellence in Education award winner.
Karrie talks about her Kindness Program she facilitates in her classroom. She says, "In my classroom, I've seen the climate change. The kids really care about each other and I just wanted them to feel the impact it has on your heart when you do good things for other people."
Karrie was recognized with a $1,500 check from the Michigan Lottery and her school will receive a $500 grant!
