LANSING, Mich. — Kevin Cousino is this week's Michigan Lottery Excellence in Education winner, congratulations Kevin.
Kevin - "Thank you so much."
Bob - "We have a video from your nominator."
"Congratulations Mr. Cousino! You lead your students to Costa Rica where they learned about environmental issues and donated supplies to needy students."
Bob - "That’s incredible! Why are you a teacher?"
Kevin - "I've always loved helping people and knowing that if I do a good job everyday again, I might Inspire them to learn more about a subject, if I do a poor job I could turn them away from it. So I try to put that pressure on myself to bring my A-game every day. It's work for sure, I'm up early, I put in a lot of time, but I love it."
Kevin Cousino receives a $1500 check the Michigan Lottery and his class at Walled Lake Northern High School receives a $500 Grant.
Excellence in Education award, sponsored by the Michigan Lottery, providing more than 23 billion dollars to public education since 1972.
