LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan Lottery has played a big role in funding education in our state, which is why it has teamed up with FOX 47 News to recognize excellent educators state-wide.

Molly Turner, a teacher at Leslie High School in Leslie is this week's Michigan Lottery Excellence in Education award winner. In her nomination video, Jean Maiville says, "If there were more teachers like Molly Turner, what a difference we would see in our education system."

Molly commented, "The ability to get to teach that to kids and see their response and watch them get that aha moment and learn is awesome. In the end, I can't think of any other career that would be more rewarding than this."

Moly was recognized with a $1,500 check from the Michigan Lottery and her school will receive a $500 grant!

The Excellence in Education award is sponsored by the Michigan Lottery, proud to provide more than $23 billion to support public education since 1972!
