LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan Lottery has played a big role in funding education in our state, which is why it has teamed up with FOX 47 News to recognize excellent educators state-wide.
Tammi Kantola, a teacher at Ravenna Middle School is this week's Michigan Lottery Excellence in Education award winner. In her nomination video, Sandra Ferguson says, "Your love and compassion for your job is a big part of what makes you so special."
Tammi commented, "Teaching has never been about the time you put in for me it's more about opening the doors and giving them the gift to imagine and believe they can do things"
Tammi was recognized with a $1,500 check from the Michigan Lottery and her school will receive a $500 grant!
The Excellence in Education award is sponsored by the Michigan Lottery, proud to provide more than $23 billion to support public education since 1972!
