Officials have confirmed a case of hepatitis A at a Buffalo Wild Wings in Warren.

According to a press release, the Macomb County Health Department inspected the restaurant located at 29287 Mound Road on April 17 after a food service employee was confirmed with the infection.

Anyone who ate at the restaurant from March 24, 2018 through April 9, 2018 is asked to watch for symptoms of hepatitis A.

These symptoms include:

abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dark urine, fever, chills and yellow skin and eyes (jaundice).

The Macomb County Health Department adds that symptoms can develop anywhere between 15 and 50 days after initial exposure, and people who develop these symptoms should seek medical care.

For customers who were not vaccinated prior to exposure, there is a short window of time to get vaccinate, according to health officials. Vaccination can prevent hepatitis A if given within 14 days after potential exposure.

Management at the restaurant has worked with the Health Department throughout the investigation, and the business has since been approved to operate.

Currently, more than 800 cases of hepatitis A have been reported statewide since August of 2016.
