Absentee ballots up this year

Posted

Last ditch efforts are underway to get people to the polls tomorrow.

But this year, Michigan voters might not need the normal push to get out and vote because the number of absentee ballots issued and returned statewide is up more than 50% than the same point in 2014.

The state's former long-term elections director has estimated more than four million people will vote.

That would be highest midterm turnout on a percentage base in nearly 50 years.
