Back to school event happening in Lansing

LANSING, Mich. — Charlotte, Grand Ledge, and Webberville start the school year on Monday, Aug. 19.

If your child doesn't have school yet, you can get them up-to-date on shots, physicals, and other back to school needs for free in Lansing on Monday.

The city of Lansing is holding its annual "Connect 4 Kids" event on Monday, Aug. 19, at the Lansing Center.

Many services will be offered to local families including free haircuts for students, physicals and eye exams.

Immunizations will be offered as well. Clothing and shoes will also be available along with tips for parents on enrollment, and school transportation.

Identification is required such as State of MI ID or Driver’s License, Student School ID or last year’s Report Card, Medicaid or Bridge Card.

Children must be present with an adult.

The time to go today is between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

The Lansing Center is located at 333 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing.
