WHITE OAK TOWNSHIP, MI — The Stockbridge Fire Department says the wind helped firefighters control a fire that destroyed a barn.
The fire broke out at a barn in the 1300 block of Brogan Road in White Oak Township at approximately 4:14 a.m. Monday.
Stockbridge Fire says investigators believe the fire started with a heat lamp, while straw inside the barn made the fire spread.
Stockbridge Fire says it is possible one pig was burned in the fire, but all other animals were safe and no one was hurt.
The wind also helped keep the flames from spreading to a nearby house.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The Stockbridge Fire Department was assisted by the Dansville Fire Department and the Leroy Township Fire Department.
