The Greater Lansing Food Bank got a boost from the community Monday. The Bell Title Agency presented them with a check to help cover expenses at the facility.
During the summer months donations are at a low . Most people tend to give during the holiday seasons.
But the Food Bank doesn't take a break. The organization still supports families and children during the summer months. And with the rich harvests in Michigan, getting fresh food to their clients is easier in the summer.
Justin Rumenapp, Greater Lansing Food Bank said, "We've heard from the community, they said they want more fresh healthy produce, our clients, so that's something we work with our retail partners to donate unsold produce, we work with our farm community who donate."
The Greater Lansing Food Bank wants to remind everyone that the support of the community allows them to continue to feed those in need.
