LANSING, Mich. — Capital Area District Libraries (CADL) officially opened its 11th StoryWalk® at the Laylin Park, located on East Maple Street in Mason. The featured title is Peter the Cat Five Little Ducks by James Dean.
A StoryWalk® encourages families to enjoy reading and the outdoors by posting a children's book a page or two at a time at intervals in a park, hiking trail or other outdoor site. It also includes activities like talking, reading, writing, singing and playing to help young children develop important early literacy skills.
Laylin Park is a 7.2-acre park located on the east side of Mason. The park has a unique resource of two stocked fishing ponds with fishing docks.
The Mason StoryWalk® was made possible through a generous donation from the Dart Foundation.
