The Brain Injury Association of Michigan brought over 35 disability groups to Lansing Thursday for Civic Engagement Day.
This was the first event in which Michigan Legislators instructed attendees on the legislative process. How best to reach legislators, finding legislation that matters to constituents, and learning to be self-advocates.
The Association says whether disabled or fully able, all citizens should understand the legislative process and learn how to advocate for themselves and the causes to which they're devoted.
